Greg Mytelka (he/him) is a yoga teacher and arts educator based in Brooklyn, New York. He is deeply passionate about building community and sharing the powerful practices of yoga and the creative arts. …
As a yoga and meditation instructor, Greg is inspired by the natural world and the ways in which we can connect with the Earth to connect more deeply with ourselves.
Greg completed his 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Kalā Yoga in Brooklyn, New York and is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance. He has completed additional training in Restorative Yoga, Āyurveda, sequencing, and hands-on assisting, and is a forever student in mentorship with his teacher Jenny H Chao and his sangha communities throughout the greater New York City area and beyond.
As an instructor, Greg draws upon training rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist lineage of yoga, and blends Vinyasa and Hatha style yoga traditions while drawing inspiration from Āyurveda. Greg teaches Vinyasa and Restorative style yoga classes and strives to create a space for students to embody their individual freedom of expression, while offering opportunities for both challenge and play on the mat. He leads weekly public classes at studios based in Brooklyn and Queens, New York, and collaborates with private clients and partners in-person and virtually.
As an arts educator, theater artist, and arts administrator, Greg enjoys collaborating with communities of all ages and creating arts experiences for young people.
Currently, Greg is a tenured member of the Teaching Artist Ensemble at the New Victory Theater, New York City’s premiere theater for young people and their families. As a Teaching Artist and arts educator, he has worked with and learned from arts organizations including CO/LAB Theater Group——an NYC-based organization providing individuals with developmental disabilities a creative and social outlet through theater arts; Seattle Children’s Theatre——Greg is a proud alum of SCT’s Emerging Professionals Program; and Syracuse Stage——where he collaborated on two original Theatre for the Very Young productions, Sound Stories and Crash, Bang, Giggle, alongside Director of Education Kate Laissle.
Greg spent several years working full-time in the education department at the New Victory Theater, during which the New Victory and its parent organization New 42 received the 2025 Tony Award for Excellence in the Theatre. As an arts administrator, Greg has also worked with the team at Theatre for Young Audiences/USA (TYA/USA), the United States Center of the International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People (ASSITEJ), where he supported the organization’s shift to virtual conference and festival programming serving nearly one-thousand members across the nation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
